Goethe-Zertifikat A1 (Start German 1) Exam Schedule

The official list below only shows time periods that are reserved and not confirmed exams. Please check with your instructor if a course has its final exam within this time.

Before registering, make sure to read the Goethe exam guidelines and the terms and conditions on each individual exam page. Register for the correct level of exam.

Locations

The Exam Schedule lists the locations in which DEP conducts operator qualification exams. Please consult  kurs na kategorię a1  for additional guidelines, conditions and guidelines and exam content. If you require special accommodations due to chronic illness or visual or hearing impairment, contact the exam provider directly and be sure to submit a thorough documentation upon registration.

Faculty can find their exam times by using the "View My Teaching Schedule" task on the Faculty Dashboard in Workday. The Registrar's Office also has a list with exam times for the courses that are required to have an exam by NYSED regulations. Final exams for evening classes are scheduled during the regular class times of the final exams.

Registration

The exam schedule is available on the internet, and students are encouraged to review it. However it is crucial to keep in mind that the final exam schedule can alter at any moment. Students should therefore consult their instructors to confirm the correct date and time of their test. Students should also print out the official list of questions to bring with them to their exam.

In addition to the exam schedule, students must familiarize themselves with the exam guidelines and terms and conditions. These are on the website for each exam. Students acknowledge they have read and accepted the terms and conditions upon registration.


Exam sites make every effort to accommodate those with special requirements. The nature and severity of these requirements must be declared on the registration form and verified by an attestation of a doctor. The locations of the exam must respect and maintain confidentiality.

If students are scheduled to take three tests on the same day, they must contact their department or instructor to schedule a make-up test. While it is possible to take three exams in a single day, it can cause a high stress level and affect the quality of the exam. Additionally, the professor might not be able to give a makeup exam on another day.

Students should review their course material before taking the exam and must practice their German skills. The exam is a paper-based test that measures your ability to read and write German. The results of the examination are given using a scale of A1 to C2. Students who pass the exam are awarded the Goethe-Zertifikat. The certificate documents that they have achieved the level of A1 in their language. This level is the first level of the six-level scale of competency set out in the Common European Framework of Reference for Foreign Languages. The exam is free of cost. Students must bring a valid government issued ID to the test. Anyone who does not have a valid photo identification will be disqualified.

Fees

You'll need to pay a fee for the examination in order to obtain the Goethe-Zertifikat (start German 1) after you have completed your Elan Academy studies. This fee is in addition to the course fee.

Practice assessments give you an overview of the style and wording, as well as the level of questions on the test. They allow you to assess your proficiency, identify gaps in knowledge and improve your chances of passing the test.

Please take note that the exam fee is non-refundable. Exam results are only sent via email and not by phone.
